Themis Computer Announces New 1RU Intel Quad-Core
Xeon-Based Rugged Enterprise Servers
Themis' new 1RU servers offer multi-core
processing and ruggedized design features that provide users
improved performance while providing lower total costs of
ownership and lifecycle management
FREMONT, California -- June
10, 2008 -- Themis Computer® has announced a new family
of, high performance 1RU servers for mission-critical applications.
Themis' new 1RU Rugged Enterprise Servers (RES) combine the
latest Intel® Xeon® 64-bit quad-core processors with
the ruggedized design features of the Themis RES server family.
Designed to perform in environments where other systems fail,
these new servers blend the latest processor technologies
with Themis' proprietary thermal and mechanical design to
deliver outstanding performance and reliability. All of Themis'
new servers support the Linux®, Sun® Solaris
and Windows® Operating Systems, to run a wide variety
of user applications.
"These 1RU Sever feature a stiff, all aluminum chassis,
with three locking hard drive modules and a slot-loading DVD.
The innovative die cast front and rear panels, are key elements
of the chassis kinetic and thermal design," said William
Kehret, president of Themis Computer. "With NEBS and
Federal Systems variants, our 1RU Rugged Enterprise Servers
have to answer to a higher calling than other 1RU servers",
Mr. Kehret added.
Offered in a compact, 1RU, 20-inch deep chassis, Themis'
family of new servers are easily expanded through the addition
of commercially available, off the shelf networking cards,
graphics, I/O, peripherals and other value-added options to
meet current and future system requirements. Designed for
mission-critical applications, with dual hot-swap power supplies,
these servers feature Themis' advanced thermal and mechanical
design that can provide high reliability in shock and vibration
environments of up to 20G.
Themis' New 1RU Intel Quad-Core Xeon-Based Servers
Themis engineered the new RES-12DCX-2.5 servers for configurability with one or
two low power, low voltage quad-core Intel Xeon processors.
Featuring multiple expansion slots, extensive high speed I/O,
and multiple storage options, the RES-12DCX-2.5 offers users
versatile configuration and system expansion options.
Themis' new RES-12DCX-2.5 combines the robust design of the
RES family with the latest low power, low-voltage, dual socket,
quad-core Intel Xeon processing power. The RES-12DCX-2.5 can
be configured with one or two Intel Xeon 5400 (quad-core)
series processors. The RES-12DCX-2.5 chassis packs up to eight
cores of processor power into a compact footprint, bringing
state-of-the art server technology to demanding environments
with its small size, rugged construction, and multi-core processors.
RES-12DCX-2.5 Features
One (1) or two (2) quad-core 5400 Series Intel Xeon processors.
Up to 32GB ECC registered DDRII-667 SDRAM memory.
1333MHz Front Side Bus.
Up to three (3) removable 2.5-inch Ultra320 SAS or SATA-2 drives, up to 1.5TB storage.
CD-RW/DVD-RW drive storage options.
Two expansion slots enable PCI-X/PCI-E I/O configurability.
Dual redundant, hot-swappable power supply units.
Dual redundant DC power option.
0 - 55º C operation.
Vibration - 0.9g from 10 - 2000Hz.
Designed for shock and vibration environments of up to 20G @ 20ms.
Themis' Environmentally Robust
Servers and Single-Board Computers
Complimenting its RES, Rugged Enterprise Servers, Themis
offers it's bladed server CoolShell Technology. This
innovative computing initiative provides kinetic management
as well as thermal headroom to accommodate aggressive scaling
of commercial microprocessor core density, speed and power.
Highly optimizing SWaP (Size, Weight and Power), this open
and modular design eases the burden of spiral technology refresh,
extending computing infrastructure investments for complete
lifecycle management.
Themis' high performance servers, single-board computers
and graphics controllers are now being integrated worldwide
into advanced communications and defense systems. The Themis
Computer family of COTS VME-based board and system products
provide the increased processing power and reliability necessary
for demanding application environments, while achieving a
net reduction in total cost of ownership.
Pricing and Availability
OEM pricing for Themis' new Rugged Enterprise Servers starts
at $5,000.00. These servers are now available, please contact
factory for more information.
