Themis' Quorum™, a distributed computing resource manager
is a software system for the automated Service
Level Agreements Management (SLAs), applications and hardware resource
in real-time, mission critical computing distributed systems. Quorum
is standards-based and supports a wide variety of industry
standard platforms including Sun® Solaris™, Linux®,
Microsoft® Windows® and LynxOS® servers, as well as various
network switches and SMI-compliant Storage Area Networks.
Quorum Architecture
Quorum provides four major benefits:
1. Automated monitoring and management of SLA Management
Software and
Application Quality of Service (AQoS). By dynamically
allocating mission critical computing resources and closed loop monitoring of
application performance, it can maintain system performance
under varying loads and conditions.
2. Real-time resource and application provisioning.
Systems are dynamically reconfigured to meet changes in a
rapidly changing environment. Policy based resource
allocation tunes a system to the mission at hand. This is
done in real-time without operator intervention.
3. High system reliability and availability. Quorum
enables a flexible, highly reliable system by treating the
entire computing system as a pool of computers. For example,
any computer can run any program, and any computer can serve
as a backup or spare for fault tolerance. Quorum will
quickly replace a failing resource from the available pool.
4. Reduced acquisition, operation, and maintenance
costs.
By enabling flexible utilization of mission critical computing resources,
Quorum reduces the hardware requirements for high
availability systems and automated, policy based operation
reduces the need for operator intervention.
Themis' Quorum software provides flexible, policy-based,
automatic decision-making for monitoring and managing
mission critical computing systems. It simplifies the daily management
of complex applications by using flexible user-defined
policies to manage application and system performance in
real time with sub-second response time.

The flexibility, automation and sub-second response times
of Quorum provide an unprecedented capability to manage SLA
Management Software
in complex mission critical computing environments.
