The RES-12XR3™, a 1Rack Unit (1RU) Dual-Processor server, combines the robust design of the Rugged Enterprise Server (RES) family with the latest Quad-Core Intel® Xeon® processors. This new system combines quad-core Intel Xeon processors with Themis’ advanced thermal and mechanical design techniques. The rugged, expandable RES-12XR3 reflects Themis' extensive expertise in designing high performance systems for use in demanding operating environments.

The RES-12XR3 chassis packs up to eight cores of processor power into a compact footprint. Two expansion slots enable I/O configurability. The RES-12XR3 brings state-of-the art server technology to demanding environments with its small size, rugged construction, and multi-core processors. Advanced server features include:
- Three (3) 2.5-inch lockable and hot swappable drives that provide
up to 1.5TB storage
- Hot swappable fans
- Redundant, hot swappable AC or DC power supplies
- Front panel filter door option, NEBS particulate filter media

The RES-12XR3 can be configured with one or two Intel Xeon 5500 quad-core series processors. Featuring two flexible expansion slots, extensive high speed I/O, and multiple storage options the RES-12XR3 allows users versatile configurability and system expansion. The RES-12XR3 is easily expanded through the addition of commercially available, off the shelf networking cards, I/O, peripherals and other value-added options to meet current and future system requirements.

To ensure reliable operation in harsh environments, Themis designed the new systems to withstand shock loads of 25G @ 20ms to deliver outstanding performance, flexibility and reliability.
