The Themis A220 Data Storage Appliance provides all the key data storage benefits required for demanding and extreme environments.
Themis Computer leverages extensive thermal and kinetic design expertise to deliver this high-performance storage system with advanced thermal and mechanical design. The A220 appliance provides I/O configuration flexibility and high reliability even when subjected to extreme shock and vibration, operating temperatures, and humidity. This hardened appliance is purpose-built for Defense applications while remaining price-competitive with Enterprise-class commercial storage systems.
Increased Efficiency
The A220 provides high storage density with a maximum configuration of 20 drives in a 2U enclosure. It comes with redundant, dual power supplies, and hot swappable fans and disk drives for high serviceability. As with all Themis products, it is designed for economy of space, weight, and power (SWAP), and this leads to a lower total cost of ownership (TCO) from savings on rack/floor space and power consumption. Our ruggedized design also allows our systems to withstand more heat, which can lead to lower cooling costs.
Simplified Storage Management
The A220 has management software that allows the system to act as both a Network Attached Storage (NAS) and Storage Area Network (SAN) system. On the NAS side, the appliance supports the NFS and CIFS protocols to provide file serving over the network to Unix/Linux and Windows systems. When acting as a SAN storage system, the appliance supports the FCP, FCoE, and iSCSI block-based protocols. In addition, there is support for HTTP for web access and FTP for file transfer, and the A220 appliance provides the following:
- Snapshots for point-in-time backups with minimum overhead

- Data replication to another Themis Data Storage appliance for disaster recovery
- Fast recovery of individual files or entire file systems from snapshots
