The MIL-STD specification was established by the U.S. Department of Defense to define specific performance and manufacturing requirements for all types of equipment. To be considered acceptable for use by the U.S. Department of Defense, most products must be designed in compliance with the MIL-STD. MIL-STD compliance is a consideration for many state and local governments who purchase computing applications for use that includes public safety, emergency services, and maintenance. Released on January 1, 2000, the MIL STD 810F standard includes testing protocols to simulate environmental stresses that include rain, humidity, salt fog, vibration, shock, and temperature.
By functionally disaggregating commercial computing resources and housing them in a standardized footprint, purpose-built enclosures, Themis system designs enable high compute densities with superior thermal and kinetic management. Built to survive in demanding environments with extreme cold, heat, shock, and vibration, Themis rugged systems adhere to the MIL-STD 810F standard for ruggedization testing.
A copy of MIL-STD 810F can be downloaded from the United States Army Developmental Test Command at http://www.dtc.army.mil/ pdf/810.pdf.
Themis products have passed or are designed to pass many military standards.Additionally, standard sections are clearly defined on all Themis product data sheets. Themis also clearly specifies vibration and shock testing for both operating and non-operating systems. Please contact Themis directly for additional details.
