Designed for use in demanding environments where Size, Weight, and Power (SWAP) are severely limited, the Themis RES-mini small form factor server combines the robust design of the RES Server family using E5-2600 V2 Series Intel® Xeon® processors with up to twelve cores. Fully compatible with popular virtualization technologies such as VMware and Citrix XenServer, the RES-mini brings next generation technology to mission-critical military, industrial, and commercial applications.
Featuring expansion slots, extensive high-speed I/O, and multiple storage options, the RES-mini server provides users with versatile configuration and system expansion options, and a strong, light-weight, coated aluminum chassis provides improved system resistance to corrosion. The RES-mini also incorporates state-of-the-art thermal and kinetic management design. The addition of commercially available, off-the-shelf networking cards, graphics, I/O, peripherals, and other value-added options results in a system that has greater flexibility to meet current and future system requirements.

Intel E5-2600 V2 Processors Enable a 50% Increase in Themis RES Server Computing Density
Measuring computing density by cores/volume or cores/kg, Themis RES servers are typically 30% smaller in volume and half the weight of commercial servers. The new E5-2600 V2 ten and twelve core processors are socket compatible with the complete RES-XR4 family of servers. RES-XR4 servers that were previously available with eight core processors are now available with twelve core processors, providing a 50% increase in cores/volume and cores/kg.
The industry faces challenges in scaling data center infrastructure to meet the unprecedented demand for computing, storage, and network bandwidth. The new Intel® Xeon® processor E5 family addresses these challenges by enabling IT organizations to seamlessly scale their infrastructures for future needs. The Intel Xeon processor E5 family addresses the incredible growth of connected users, devices, and data traffic in the cloud through record-breaking performance, exceptional energy efficiency, breakthrough I/O innovation, and built-in security features. These processors are not only at the heart of servers and workstations, but also the next generation of storage and communication systems from system vendors across the globe.
