Military Standard (MIL-STD)

DODLogoMIL-STD was established by the U.S. Department of Defense to define specific performance and manufacturing requirements for all types of equipment. To be considered acceptable for use by the U.S. Department of Defense, most products must be designed in compliance with the MIL-STD. MIL-STD compliance is a consideration for many state and local governments who purchase computing applications for use that includes public safety, emergency services, and maintenance. Released on October 31, 2008, the MIL-STD-810G standard includes testing protocols to  simulate environmental stresses that include rain, humidity, salt fog, vibration, shock, and temperature.

By functionally disaggregating commercial computing resources and housing them in a standardized footprint, purpose-built enclosures, TMS system designs enable high compute densities with superior thermal and kinetic management. Built to survive in demanding environments with extreme cold, heat, shock, and vibration, our rugged systems adhere to the MIL-STD-810G standard for ruggedization testing.

A copy of MIL-STD-810G can be downloaded from the United States Army Developmental Test Command at https://www.dtc.army.mil/ pdf/810.pdf.

TMS products have passed or are designed to pass many military standards. Additionally, standard sections are clearly defined on all our product data sheets. TMS also clearly specifies vibration and shock testing for both operating and non-operating systems. Please contact us directly for additional details.
